Why to donate?

climate change and WWI

While focusing on promoting peace, we cannot leave out climate refugees and environmental migrants, people forced to move from their homes due to sudden or long-term changes to their local environment which compromise their lives and well-being.

SCI acknowledges that mobility is the hallmark of the 21st century. Yet, as a movement promoting international volunteering for peace, we take responsibility and try to limit carbon production as a side effect of traveling around the globe.

Being committed to both Climate for Peace and Building Bridges campaigns, SCI introduced in 2018 this kind of travel policy, that applies to all participants of our international activities.

In that sense, SCI encourages you all to follow it in all your traveling adventures.

Through this fund, SCI provides financial support for volunteer projects promoting climate justice and sustainable living. Activists from SCI branches and groups can apply for grants of up to 500 Euros and implement projects that combine action and education, and provide practical benefits to the local community.

By increasing the financial capacity of this fund, we can support more projects and have a bigger impact, thus making yet another step closer to climate justice.
