GAIA MicroGrants is dried out - 10 great projects supported this year!

GAIA MicroGrants team is happy to report - all funds available for this year have been distributed! Since April 10 activist projects were supported with a total sum of just over 4000 euro.

All supported activities focused on helping communities prepare for climate change impacts or on making our food systems more sustainable (or, in several cases, an intersection of the two goals). Activists empowered the locals by creating food gardens in Indonesia, South Africa and Sri Lanka. They planted trees to protect the communities and improve their living standards in India, Indonesia and Bangladesh. Volunteers supported and learned from organic farmers in Malaysia and Slovenia and taught their neighbors to make compost at home in Hungary. And finally, they improved environmental conditions and climate awareness of a mountain village community in Italy.

Details of all projects will be available in the GAIA MicroGrants Annual Report in December, but you can already start planning your project for next year! Application and reporting are activist-friendly and the programme team gladly offers support to all applicants. The selection team which evaluates all applications consists of SCI activists just like you, so we learn and grow together!
