SCI Funding for Disaster Relief

We are talking a lot about funding today, but this time we'd like to introduce you to one of the three funds available from SCI!

SCI's Disaster Relief Fund is available for SCI’s branches, groups and working groups in order to carry out projects of immediate support after a natural disaster or mid/long term projects which include voluntary work with direct and indirect benefits for the local population and ecosystem.  Possible areas of work are for example natural disaster relief activities, knowledge sharing and financial support to the affected communities.

The Disaster Relief Fund supports actions up to 500 euros per project. According to the selection criteria, the initiative must fit the aims of the fund, be in line with SCI Mission and guided by SCI core values and contribute to raising awareness among local communities, newcomers SCI volunteer and SCI as an organization. In addition, emergency and long-term response actions by volunteers are prioritized over administrative procedures.

Applications are accepted on a rolling-basis; there is no deadline. After submission, you will receive the decision in 10 days. The initiative must be completed in 6 months after the approval of the funding. After the completion of the project, we ask for a high quality photos or video for our website to give visibility to the project and inspire others to take initiatives in similar, important work.
