The Global Human Rights Week is a 6 day global event coordinated by CCIVS in the framework of the Raising Peace Campaign. Its main task is to provide visibility to the challenges related to Peace and Human Rights worldwide, focusing on the actions implemented by the IVS movement on these specific topics. These initiatives share common goal: to cast a spotlight on the current situations of Human Rights, to encourage grassroots activism and to promote social change.

In April in Novi Sad, VCV Serbia organized a Living Library event called ''Closing borders'', which focused on the topic of refugees and migration. This event gathered volunteers and members of NGOs that are currently working on the field in Belgrade, Subotica and Šid, in order to help the ones that are stuck between Serbian state borders, and whose fate is becoming more uncertain as the days pass by.

 

At the International Secretariat of SCI things never stop! From the middle of June Chantal has officially joined the office as the new communication and volunteer coordinator.

On the 30th of May, as promised, the European Commission present the legal base to the European Parliament for the European Solidarity Corps. The European Youth Forum organized on the 7th of June a meeting with its Member’s organization (MO) to discuss this.
