KVT Finland has offered places in Finnish workcamps for asylum seekers living in Finland for several years now. For the duration of a workcamp, asylum seekers  participate as volunteers amongst others. KVT’s work with asylum seekers has most definitely been important and valuable for all KVT’s volunteers, no matter what their background.

On Monday, 17 September, a new volunteer joined us at the International Secretariat of SCI in Antwerp - Morgane from France. She will be the new Tech volunteer in our office, replacing Geoffrey, who will finish his year of volunteering at the beginning of October.
We are glad to introduce Morgane to all of you with this interview!

Today - 21st of September - is the International Peace Day. To mark this day, the No Hate Speech Campaign of the Council of Europe is organizing an Action Day countering Hate Speech against Muslims.

The participants of a volunteer workcamp in the asylum seekers center in Ter Dennen in Belgium explain why it makes sense to volunteer with SCI. The two-week long workcamp of VIA VZW Belgium (the Flemish SCI branch) took place in August 2017 with 8 participants from 6 different countries. The aim of the workcamp was to promote peace by organizing activities for the children in the asylum.
