The main aim of a Human Library is to enable people to meet, listen to each other, overcome fears and/or prejudices. On the 26th of June, SCI Switzerland organized a Human Library with refugee stories in one of Berne's transit centers for asylum seekers. The event was part of an "open doors day" where neighbours and interested people could come and visit the facilities and its inhabitants.

The SALTO South East Europe Resource Centre will be organising a European Volunteering Forum in Maribor, Slovenia, from 10 – 14 October and it would be great to have an SCI representative there! The forum will bring together around 50 participants from organisations that are actively involved in transnational volunteering - EVS as well as other programmes - coming from all over Europe and its neighbouring regions.

Today, August 12th our EVS volunteers Shane and Sathya visited the lush green and busy park near the SCI offices to discover the thoughts of the beautiful people of Antwerp as part of International Youth Day 2016. The theme for this year is "Youth Leading Sustainability" with a special focus on the 11th Sustainable Development Goal "sustainable consumption and production". The volunteers talked to 6 different people all with a variety of responses and ideas on a broad range of topics on education, the environment and sustainability.
