Welcome to the Global Human Rights Week

From 17th to 22nd October the Coordinating Committee for International  Voluntary Service is organizing the Human Rights Week thanks to the Raising Peace campaign.

In 2015 CCIVS launched the first focus on Human Rights thanks to the Raising Peace Campaign with the aim of strengthening and improving the visibility of the role of IVS organisations and young volunteers towards the construction of Peace and Human Rights around the world by empowering through training, advocacy and raising awareness the activism and communication.   

In 2016 the International Voluntary Service has proposed again the Human Rights Week, as a great and global event with local actions worldwide. The campaign is divided in thematic days:
- 17th October the campaign will focus on Human Rights in general and the link between HR and Poverty;
- 18th October it will  focus on the rights on food and housing;
- 19th October it will  focus on the rights to live in peace;
- 20th October it will  focus on migrations and refugees;
- 21st October it will  focus on living together and gender and sexual orientation.

On 20th October, there will be the central and most visible events. The campaign  can also be followed and supported on line: following the Facebook page of the Coordinating Committee for International  Voluntary Service;  on Twitter following the @raising_peace account and using the hasthag #RaisingPeace #Peace #CCIVS #IVS and #RP. You also can give your simple contribution on Thunderclap on the first day of campaign.

SCI branches are organising activities at local level, especially within the week there will be activities organized by our branch in Hungary - Utilapu, SCI Hellas and SCI - Cat. You can follow the activities and the update on their Facebook page.
