1. Nelson Mandela International Day

Posted by projects on Jul 18

The 18th of July 2009 was established as the international Nelson Mandela Day, through a decision made by the UN General Assembly. Why? Because the Mandela Day is a global call to action that celebrates the idea that each individual has the power to transform the world and the ability to make an impact:  “What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead”. Nelson Mandela.
