Glovola EVS Volunteers

Sathyanarayanan Mohan Ellapulli comes from India, and joined the Glovola project as a 12 month EVS volunteer. He spent his year in Antwerp, Belgium at the International Secretariat of SCI, where he gave IT support and worked on the project output, a database of experts!

“After coming over to (Belgium) Europe and staying here for the past few months for my EVS, I feel my exposure has opened up so many opportunities to meet new people, cultivate friendships, explore and understand new ways of life and understand various cultures. This brief but eventful stay here has so far taught me new insights on the history, politics, customs, food and culture of different regions and countries of Europe.”

Carmen Chong, from Malaysia, took part in Glovola by completing a 3 months EVS project. She spent one month with our branch SCI Belgium, in Brussels and then spent 2 months at SCI's International Secretariat during which she supported the preparation and implementation of our Exchange Platform Meeting, which this year took place in Sweden!

"What I like the most is people. They are very welcoming, warm and always very helpful. I felt like a part of the IS."

"My dream that I have for being an EVS is to challenge myself to step out of my comfort zone by trying new things."
