We are extremely happy to share the latest news from the General Assembly of the Coordinating Commitee for International Voluntary Service: SCI representative, Ingrid Danckaerts will succeed Matina Deligianni from SJ France as the new president of the Coordinating Committee for International Voluntary Service (CCIVS).

The 34th General Assembly of CCIVS took place last week, 25th to 27th of November in Bouznika, Morocco.

Ingrid expressed the following when asked about her new role:

"A new challenge.... promoting SCI values in a worldwide network as CCIVS, in these exciting years as we work towards the 100th anniversary of SCI! Together with the whole International Voluntary Service movement we'll have to reflect on the role of our organisations and through CCIVS we can try to reach out to more institutions and partners in order to make our voice heard and our work visible."

With the hundred year anniversary of IVS approaching, it is appropriate that Ingrid of SCI will take the role as President of CCIVS. SCI was the founder and has been a pioneer organization throughout this century. I applaud this rich history of peace and reconciliation.
