VIA Campleader Training

Posted by projects on May 18

Soon to be campleaders all over the world are preparing and getting ready for the summer, when hundreds of workcamps will be taking place! Our EVS volunteers at the International Secretariat will have the chance to take part in a workcamp with our Flemish Branch, VIA Belgium. Here, Shane shares the story of his campleader training weekend.

"I arrived at Wereldwerf with 3 others choosing unanimously to walk the last few miles to the site of the VIA Campleader training weekend. Arriving in good time we met and greeted some of the other people we would be sharing this weekend with. After a cup of tea we started off talking and discussing upcoming events for the weekend.

Refugee Fund - Open for Applications

Posted by projects on May 14

The aggravation of the crisis in Europe in summer 2015 has moved a number of branches and activists to provide additional local help to refugees on the move and at their arrival

Considering the positive effects of such efforts and their coherence with SCI mission and history, at SCI's International Committee Meeting 2015 branches proposed and approved an Urgent Resolution aimed at providing small and easily accessible funds to groups and branches planning projects and actions with and for refugees, lowering barriers to connect with locals and promoting mutual understanding.
